BIO
Sculptor Launa Beuhler’s artwork has been exhibited in venues in New York, San Francisco, Canada, and Europe. Her work has been published in Metropolis, Brooklyn Bridge Magazine, Valentino Fall Catalogue, Vanity Fair, Vogue, The New York Times, San Francisco Examiner, Art International, The New York Art Review, and a documentary entitled Visions: Four New York Artists is included in the archival collection at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C.
Ms. Beuhler has found a symbiotic relationship between positions held in some of the most prestigious organizations in the New York art world and her work as a sculptor. Her first position after graduating with a Master Degree in sculpture from Alfred University was working at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy. The opportunity to work for such a renowned collection has given her invaluable experience in all aspects of collection management, exhibition planning, preparation, and the installation of more than 200 domestic and international exhibitions. She has also worked as a consultant for the Art Commission of the City of New York, and has held the positions of Executive Director at The Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, Director of Traveling Exhibitions at Aperture Foundation and Director of Exhibitions at Umbrage Editions, and Archivist for The Estate of Inge Morath. Ms. Beuhler’s background and experience in exhibitions and collection management has informed her work as a sculptor and given her great insight in her career as a professional artist.
